From dancing to Oyetola rivalry: Everything Adeleke said at Osun governorship town hall

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke defended his administration's performance during a town hall meeting on Tuesday, dismissing allegations of vote-buying and Edenisation. He also took shots at the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola, ahead of the August 15 governorship election. Adeleke, seeking a second term, highlighted achievements in road construction, healthcare, and workers' welfare, while addressing criticisms of his dancing at public events and his rivalry with the APC.

Recalling his political journey, Adeleke said he returned to the race in 2022 after being cheated in the 2018 election. He promised more projects if re-elected. The governor rejected allegations of vote-buying, stating that his administration lacked resources for such practices and had instead been using resources to pay workers.

Adeleke also provided palliatives to workers since 2023 and dismissed claims of substandard roads, citing certified engineers and international assessments. He defended the quality of infrastructure projects and highlighted the installation of solar street lights along some roads to enhance security and economic development.
