The fate of the Porto Picasso Museum and the Opera House in Busan will be decided in early October. This decision comes after collecting opinions from experts and citizens from this month to next, followed by reviews by the Busan Cultural Cooperation Committee and a town hall meeting. The process is not a simple consultation between the administration and the experts, as the outcome of the consultation will be fully incorporated into the administrative decision.

The two projects are not easy to push through, so it is decided to make a swift conclusion, but it aims to narrow down the divided opinions by listening to various citizen and expert opinions. To make the two projects proceed as planned, the budget for the projects must be reflected in the next year's budget, and the Busan Museum must be legally contracted in December.

The feasibility problem is also considered. The building of the Porto Picasso Museum is under scrutiny by an expert panel consisting of 15 experts from various fields, including art, environment, architecture, finance, and law. The panel holds three rounds of meetings to review the pros and cons of the project, including the feasibility study report and the confidentiality agreement.

The Busan Opera House will gather public opinions through a forum and a survey. An open forum will be held in February with 14 members, including professionals, artists, and citizens. The public survey will be conducted in February for residents over 18 years old in Busan. Both issues will be reviewed by the Busan Cultural Cooperation Committee in the third week of September, and the final decision will be made by the mayor in early October.
