Victims gave ‘wrong’ details, ‘fatal’ to prosecution case: Court while acquitting Brij Bhushan

The women wrestlers accused former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment in 2023. Initially, they were hesitant to come forward due to fear it could harm their careers. However, when they eventually did, they gave "wrong" details about the incident, including the country and year. The court, in its acquittal of Singh, found this contradiction to be "fatal to the prosecution case."

The court described the victims' version as "false, fabricated, and politically motivated." Additionally, the court noted inconsistencies and improvements in the victims' statements and their continued cordial relations with Singh, which further discredited the prosecution case.
