Rangers linked to former 2nd overall pick in NHL Draft

The Rangers' offense has been a cause for concern, as they have been shut out nine times this season. The team is counting on key players like Alexis Lafrenière, Pavel Dorofeyev, and Mika Zibanejad to provide the necessary scoring. However, the Rangers must also improve their defensive depth in the bottom six, as they struggled in that area throughout the season.

One potential trade target is Emil Tovalnen, a player the Rangers have inquired about but has not yet secured. If Laine does not become a Rangers' target, signing Tovalnen could provide the team with additional scoring help. The Rangers have also considered flipping Braden Schneider for a forward, but Drury may have more significant moves to make before the season begins.
