Explosions rock occupied Crimea as fires spread in Krasnoperekopsk industrial zone

On the night of August 10, Krasnoperekopsk, located in Russia-occupied Crimea, was struck by a series of explosions, according to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel. By morning, reports indicated multiple fires, including one behind the railway station near the industrial zone. Seven explosions were heard between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., with subscribers observing a blaze at the Southern Industrial Zone, reportedly used by Russian troops for equipment storage and repairs.

The situation in Sevastopol mirrored that of Krasnoperekopsk, with an air raid alert issued overnight on August 9 and continuing into the early hours of August 10. Drones and gunfire were reported, along with explosions near the Balaklava thermal power plant. Russian-installed "governor" Mikhail Razvozhayev claimed 15 drones were shot down overnight, stating that debris from the downed drones ignited a forested area near Inzhir Beach, resulting in two distinct fire sites. Evacuations were necessary for a campground at the beach.

Additionally, debris from the downed drones led to falling objects near Fiolent Highway, causing partial power outages in Simferopol. However, electricity was reported to have been restored by morning. Elsewhere, drones also targeted Russia's Tatarstan region, hitting an oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, believed to be the intended target. A fire was reported near the refinery.
