Samsuri contradicts Hadi, says Bersatu still in PN

Bersatu, a coalition member under Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar's leadership, maintains its status within Perikatan Nasional (PN), according to the coalition chairman. This contradicts PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, who asserts that Bersatu has ceased to be a PN member. Samsuri emphasizes that Bersatu's position in the coalition remains unchanged despite doubts surrounding its membership following its decision to seek the formation of a new coalition following the Negeri Sembilan state elections.

Hadi's claim stems from the PN constitution, which stipulates that any party opting to join or form another alliance would automatically forfeit its membership. However, this stance has been contested by Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali, who maintains that there is no clause within PN's constitution that automatically terminates a party's membership.

Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, the Bersatu information chief, further asserts that the party intends to submit a report to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) regarding its standing as a PN component.

Samsuri downplays the potential threat from Bersatu's forthcoming report, stating that it is ultimately up to the Muhyiddin-led party to take any necessary action.
