No one can claim GoldBod has made a loss, not even IMF – Sammy Gyamfi

Sammy Gyamfi, CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), has vehemently refuted allegations that the institution has incurred a loss. He emphasized that GoldBod's financial standing can be confirmed via its audited financial records and expressed assurance that the entity's performance would endure rigorous examination from both local and international parties.

Mr Gyamfi affirmed that GoldBod operates with financial responsibility and has consistently maintained fiscal stability since assuming its broader role in Ghana's gold industry. During a Twitter Spaces discussion on Sunday, August 9, he stated unequivocally, "Nobody can ever say that GoldBod has made a loss, including the IMF." He further assured that detractors who predicted the institution's demise would be proven wrong, asserting that its financial documentation would ultimately dispel any doubts about its performance.

Previous to this, Mr Gyamfi had confirmed that GoldBod had never recorded a loss and that its financial statements were accessible on the institution's website. He also reiterated that the organization was being overseen with "modesty and prudence" as it assumes greater accountability for Ghana's gold trade.
