Melaka Pakatan open to talks, coalition welcomes negotiations ahead state election

Melaka Pakatan Harapan (PH) is open to discussions with any party for the impending Melaka State Election, stated its chairman Adly Zahari. The structure of cooperation and the number of contested seats remain to be determined, as two rounds of meetings have been conducted so far to evaluate the coalition's prospects. Internal preparations for the state election are ongoing within PH.

Adly highlighted that while formal negotiations with the Melaka Barisan Nasional (BN) party have not taken place, they are open to engaging with political entities sharing the core values of the Malaysia Madani agenda. Regarding seat targets, PH is optimistic about increasing their presence from the five seats they previously secured out of 28, primarily based on their strength in three parliamentary constituencies - Alor Gajah, Kota Melaka, and Hang Tuah Jaya - and potential in Tangga Batu, Masjid Tanah, and Jasin.

Meanwhile, PKR State Leadership Council acting chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim mentioned that political dynamics in Melaka differ from other Unity Government states, necessitating comprehensive consideration in any negotiations. Currently, PH state assemblymen are concentrating on fulfilling their public duties and responsibilities, avoiding excessive political debates that may disrupt social consensus and unity.
