Melaka Pakatan open to talks, coalition welcomes negotiations ahead state election

Melaka Pakatan Harapan (PH) is open to talks with any political party for the upcoming Melaka State Election, announced its chairman Adly Zahari. The details of cooperation and the number of seats to contest have not yet been determined. Two meetings have been held thus far to evaluate the coalition's prospects, while preparations for the state election are ongoing internally.

Adly emphasized that within a democratic system, various forms of cooperation are possible and PH is receptive to negotiations. The coalition has not discussed arrangements with Melaka Barisan Nasional (BN) but remains open to working with parties sharing similar aspirations with the Malaysia Madani agenda. Adly expressed optimism that the PH can enhance its state legislative assembly seat count from the current five out of 28, based on PH's strength in three parliamentary constituencies and potential in other areas.

Meanwhile, PKR's acting chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim acknowledged that Melaka's political landscape has unique dynamics compared to other Unity Government states, and all relevant factors must be taken into account in any negotiations. The PH state assemblymen are currently concentrating on fulfilling their public duties and responsibilities, avoiding excessive political debates that could harm social consensus and unity.
