Israel rejects Trump’s 15-point Gaza peace plan

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has firmly rejected US President Donald Trump’s 15-point plan aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. The rejection stems from Netanyahu's insistence that Israel will only withdraw its troops from Gaza once Hamas is genuinely disarmed. Initially, Trump's Board of Peace had announced a deal for "complete disarmament" of Hamas and other armed groups within Gaza.

However, Hamas has stated that they would only surrender their heavy weapons if Israel ceased all aggression and withdrew its forces from the territory. Despite an initial ceasefire agreement signed last October, Israel has continued its military operations in Gaza. Netanyahu's rejection was made clear during a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, where he emphasized that the Israeli military will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is fully disarmed and continues to neutralize threats against Israeli forces and citizens.

Although Trump hailed the plan as a "monumental step toward lasting peace and security," Netanyahu stressed that Hamas must achieve complete disarmament through a process that is not merely symbolic. He is currently engaged in talks with US officials to determine how to proceed with the plan.
