Sadhus & Seers Announce Kar Seva At Mathura’s Krishna Janmabhoomi On December 6

Mathura: Sadhus and seers have announced a kar seva, a mass movement, at the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura on December 6, prompting the district administration to take action. The announcement was made at the Chitragupt Peeth in Julhendi, Radhakund area, following a havan and puja attended by many sadhus. Police personnel were stationed outside the venue during the meeting.

Initially, a kar seva was planned for August 9, but it was postponed due to the Kanwar Yatra during the month of Shravan. However, the new date of December 6 holds significance as it marks the anniversary of the 1992 demolition of a disputed structure in Ayodhya by kar sevaks. A large number of sadhus expressed their support for the proposed campaign to build a grand Krishna temple at the birthplace of Lord Krishna.

The announcement follows the arrival of the first consignment of pink sandstone for the temple from Bansi Paharpur in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, on Friday. The stones will be used in the construction of the proposed Krishna temple, similar to the material used in the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The Chitragupt Peeth had announced that sadhus from all 13 akharas would be invited to participate in the kar seva.

The police and district administration are closely monitoring the situation after the announcement. Notices have been issued to prominent religious figures, urging them to refrain from any activities around the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi site that could disturb communal harmony and public order. The police have also warned of legal action if any activity threatens public order.

As a result, security agencies are expected to maintain a heightened presence in Mathura and around the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi complex in the coming months.
