Immigration investigates video of vehicle reportedly misusing department logo

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 9 — The Immigration Department is probing the use of its logo on a vehicle captured in a widely shared social media clip. The vehicle is believed to be piloted by a non-citizen. Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban stated that initial assessments confirmed the car was not an official department asset. "The department regards the misuse of its logo on the vehicle as a matter of grave concern," Zakaria remarked.

The department has initiated an investigation to identify the individual behind the vehicle and ascertain the intent behind displaying the logo. Appropriate legal action will be pursued if any violation is found. Zakaria emphasized that any misuse of the department's logo or identity would not be tolerated, as it could mislead the public and tarnish the agency's image. He also cautioned the public to exercise restraint when sharing information regarding the investigation while it is ongoing.
