20-year-old man arrested after Chinese man stabbed to death

Chonburi – On the 8th of August 2026, a 20-year-old student named Thanachot has been apprehended for allegedly stabbing a Chinese man to death inside an apartment in Sattahip district. The incident occurred after Thanachot discovered the Chinese man, identified as Cao Ke, with his girlfriend. The police arrested the young man around 9:50 am as he fled towards Pattaya.

Upon realizing the victim's demise, Thanachot contacted the police to surrender. Upon his arrest, Thanachot was found to have a cut on his abdomen. During his initial questioning, the student claimed he worked as a security guard at an entertainment venue in Pattaya the previous night. He returned to his girlfriend's apartment in the morning and allegedly found an unfamiliar man on the bed.

According to Thanachot, he confronted the man while holding a knife to scare him. CCTV footage shows the suspect leaving the scene. Thanachot stated that the Chinese man attempted to grab the knife and allegedly tried to attack him. The two then engaged in a struggle where they choked each other. After regaining control of the knife, Thanachot stabbed the man, claiming he did not intend to kill him.

He then fled towards Pattaya before deciding to surrender when he learned of the victim's death. The police have charged Thanachot with intentional murder and are continuing their investigation. Authorities are now verifying Cao Ke's information and trying to locate his relatives. Further questioning of witnesses and examination of forensic evidence will help establish the exact circumstances of the incident, leading to a final decision on the case.
