MotoGP agrees new two-year deal with Silverstone for British GP

MotoGP has confirmed a two-year extension to its agreement with Silverstone, ensuring the British Grand Prix remains on the championship calendar until at least 2028. The British GP, which attracted nearly 100,000 fans last year, is crucial for MotoGP's success in the UK market. Despite MotoGP's inability to replicate Formula 1's success at Silverstone recently, the circuit remains an essential venue for the sport.

MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta expressed satisfaction with the renewed partnership, stating that Silverstone provides an exceptional stage for MotoGP, with eleven different winners in the last eleven races. The agreement reinforces MotoGP's commitment to providing high-speed experiences for fans in Britain. Silverstone CEO Stuart Pringle emphasized that the deal is not just about signing a contract, but reaffirming their vision of the circuit as the UK's premier site for elite international racing.

MotoGP returned to Silverstone in 2010 and has since become a staple event on the calendar, with only two cancellations due to external factors in 2018 and 2020.
