Top Fifa official Wenger says scrapping World Cup plan 'absolutely necessary'

Wenger, citing the need for an independent Fifa that serves the game with transparency and integrity, said the plan was "absolutely necessary and beyond question." Grafstrom described the past week as a "sad and reproachable series of events," while Prince Ali accused Fifa of blackmail over unpaid prize money and support for Infantino's re-election.
