President Donald Trump has pledged to refrain from launching fresh attacks on Iran, provided a swift agreement can be reached to stop Iran's nuclear program and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. On his Truth Social platform, Mr. Trump stated that Iran and other Middle Eastern nations have requested a window to finalize a deal that would lead to the immediate, complete, and total opening of the crucial strait and an end to Iran's nuclear threat.

The US president did not identify the countries in the post, which came after a conversation with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, a US ally. Based on this request, Mr. Trump agreed to cancel the attack, provided a rapid deal could be reached, for the world's benefit and the survival of a prosperous Iran. Israel agreed to this commitment.

Iranian state media rejected Mr. Trump's claim that Tehran had asked Washington to call off strikes, branding it a "new lie" and stating that its armed forces were fully prepared. Despite Israel and the US coordinating closely on regional developments, Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen stated that if Iran attempts to resume its nuclear program or advance its ballistic missile industries, they will take action.

US President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu met in Washington, discussing all possible ways to curb Iran's nuclear program, including diplomacy, economic pressure, and force. Iran's acting Defense Minister, Brigadier General Majid Ebn Al-Reza, described recent US threats as "psychological and cognitive warfare" but said Iran would boost preparedness and deterrence.
