The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected fraudster and recovered stolen electronic appliances valued at N3 million, according to Punch and Punch Nigeria. The command stated that efforts are currently underway to apprehend the suspect's accomplice, who fled the scene.

Separately, the Uttar Pradesh Police rescued a two-month-old infant who was allegedly kidnapped from the Maharajganj district to be sacrificed on Amavasya. The Indian Express reports that police arrested three people, including two women, after tracing them to the Kashmiri Gate bus stand in New Delhi.

The accused allegedly believed that performing the sacrifice, following advice from an occult practitioner in Nepal, would stop premature deaths in their family and return two missing family members. The arrest included Savitri, 38; Saraswati, 57; and Karan Kumar Gautam, 22. The kidnapping was reported by the infant's father, Govind Rajbhar, after an unidentified intruder stole his son while he and his wife were sleeping.
