Police arrest man over fake alert in Bauchi, recover N3m goods

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a suspected fraudster and recovered stolen electronic appliances worth N3 million. According to Punch Nigeria, the command is continuing efforts to apprehend a fleeing accomplice of the suspect.

In a separate incident, the Uttar Pradesh Police rescued a two-month-old infant who had been kidnapped from the Maharajganj district. The Indian Express reports that three individuals were arrested at the Kashmiri Gate bus stand in New Delhi, including two women. The group allegedly intended to sacrifice the child on Amavasya following advice from an occult practitioner in Nepal to prevent premature deaths and return missing family members.

The arrests included 38-year-old Savitri, a neighbor of the complainant; 57-year-old Saraswati, Savitri’s mother; and 22-year-old Karan Kumar Gautam. The infant's father, Govind Rajbhar, had filed a complaint on November 3 after an intruder stole the child while the parents were sleeping.
