Three die, seven injured in Ogun road crashes

Three individuals lost their lives and seven others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents along the Sagamu-Ikorodu Expressway and the Ota–Idiroko Road in Ogun State. The incidents occurred on Saturday and were reported by Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency.

The first accident took place at the Kam Steel axis of the Sagamu–Ikorodu Highway around 4.10pm. A patrol van emerged from the Kam Steel access road onto the highway and collided with a tricycle, causing it to somersault. As a result, one woman died and two other women suffered injuries. The victims were transported to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in Sagamu for treatment.

Later that day, around 3.25pm, another accident occurred at the Agarawu, Winners axis of the Ota–Idiroko Road. This crash involved a yellow Howo truck and a TVS tricycle, with both brake failure and a loss of control by the truck driver causing the collision. Two individuals, a man and a woman, died as a result of the accident, while five others sustained injuries. The injured victims were also taken to the General Hospital in Ifo for medical care.
