ECG to begin nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise, warns customers with arrears of disconnection

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will commence a nationwide Mass Revenue Mobilisation Exercise starting Monday, November 9, to collect overdue electricity bills. The exercise will continue until Friday, November 27, 2026, targeting all residential, commercial, industrial customers and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Dr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, General Manager for External Communications at ECG, revealed the initiative during a press conference. He cautioned customers with unpaid bills to settle them immediately to prevent disconnection and additional reconnection charges. The exercise aims to boost revenue collection, enhance the company's financial stability, and ensure efficient service delivery.

Special teams will enforce the exercise, apprehending and prosecuting those who illegally connect to the grid, interfere, or self-reconnect after disconnection. Customers are advised against illegal connections and self-reconnections as they could result in arrest and prosecution. Dr Ayiku urged customers to utilize the ECG Mobile App for bill payments or contact the Contact Centre on 0302 611611 for assistance.

ECG remains committed to providing reliable electricity services and seeks customers' cooperation during the exercise.
