The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is set to commence a nationwide Mass Revenue Mobilisation Exercise starting Monday, November 9, to collect outstanding electricity bills from all categories of customers, including residential, commercial, industrial, and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The exercise will continue until Friday, November 27, 2026.
Dr Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku, the General Manager for External Communications at ECG, announced the exercise and stressed the importance of customers settling their unpaid bills to avoid disconnection and additional reconnection fees. The aim of the exercise is to enhance revenue collection and bolster the company's financial position by ensuring ECG's operational efficiency in delivering electricity services.
Special teams will monitor the exercise, apprehend, and prosecute those who illegally connected electricity, interfered with the exercise, or reconnected themselves after disconnection. Customers unable to access their bills should visit the nearest ECG office, and ECG encourages customers to use regular payment channels, particularly the ECG Mobile App.
Dr Ayiku urged customers to contact the ECG Contact Centre on 0302 611611 or via social media for assistance.
