Thomas Markle Arrested On Child Sex Abuse Material Charges
Meghan Markle's father Thomas was arrested by FBI agents at a Lakeland, Florida, care home, according to multiple reports
Thomas Markle, father of Prince Harry's wife Meghan, was arrested by FBI agents on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material, according to sources. The 82-year-old was taken into custody at a senior care facility in Lakeland, Florida. Meghan recently expressed "deep distress" over allegations that child sexual abuse images were discovered at her father's former residence in the Philippines.
She disclosed that a letter containing "troubling allegations" regarding him had been forwarded to London police in 2018. Philippine authorities had previously seized evidence from the property, where Markle had resided before returning to America. Major General Wilson Asueta of the Philippine National Police confirmed that Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Material (CSEAM) was among the items seized.
Meghan's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., who reported their father to Philippine police, is now considered a person of interest in the investigation. This is a developing story and will be updated.
