Peter Obi has squandered his goodwill — Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has accused Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi of squandering his goodwill by utilizing "lies and bogus statistics," according to Punch Nigeria.

Speaking at an All Progressives Congress campaign rally in Akwa Ibom on Friday, Shettima stated that Obi has no plan for the country beyond "sweet talk" and incoherent economic prescriptions. Daily Post Nigeria reports that the Vice President criticized Obi for attempting to compare Nigeria to Bangladesh, arguing that Obi fails to account for differences in economic structure, institutions, and population.

Shettima also addressed Obi's comments regarding fuel subsidies, claiming the former Anambra State governor has been confusing the public. The Vice President advised Nigerians to look beyond petrol prices and instead compare them to the costs in neighboring countries.
