Zelensky: 2 Ways to Halt Strikes on Russia
Zelensky said Ukraine could halt strikes on Russian oil refineries if Moscow stopped attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure or Washington supplied Patriot missiles for a month, with Kyiv willing to pay. He also praised Melania Trump's role in facilitating humanitarian efforts in the Kherson region.
President Volodymyr Zelensky detailed two potential methods to cease strikes on Russian oil refineries in an interview with Fox News. The Ukrainian leader suggested that Moscow should cease attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure or receive Patriot air defense missiles from the US, either temporarily or permanently. Zelensky recalled discussions with Donald Trump's team, emphasizing that Ukraine could not refrain from responding while Russia continued targeting its energy facilities and causing civilian casualties.
The president proposed an alternative: the US could provide Ukraine with a one-month supply of Patriot missiles in exchange for refraining from attacking Russian refineries during that period. Zelensky expressed no reservations about candidly sharing the truth with Washington and stressed that American society strongly backs Ukraine.
The interview also addressed the possibility of extending humanitarian initiatives involving First Lady Melania Trump to other conflict zones, highlighting the value of such efforts.
