Yobe govt harps on tech-driven financial management as AI, blockchain training begins for MDAs

The Yobe State Government has launched a three-day training program aimed at introducing emerging technologies to financial managers across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). The initiative, led by the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, focuses on the application of artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and forensic analytics in public financial management. These technologies promise to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency within the public sector.

The workshop, themed "Emerging Technologies in Public Financial Management: Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and Forensic Analytics for Public-Sector Financial Managers," underscores Governor Mai Mala Buni's administration's commitment to human capital development. Shehu highlighted that the program aims to equip officers with practical tools to combat fraud, forecast revenues accurately, ensure transparent procurement, and monitor public expenditure more effectively.

Participants are encouraged to integrate the knowledge gained into their professional practices, with Shehu stressing that innovation, integrity, and professionalism are crucial for effective financial management. The Lead Consultant, Malam Abdulrazaq Ibrahim, praised Governor Buni, the Head of Service, and Comrade Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf, the Focal Person on Training and Succession Planning, for their roles in organizing the successful event.

Yusuf emphasized that the training aligns with the government's succession-planning strategy, preparing officers for future leadership roles and building on previous investments in capacity building through educational institutions like ASCON.
