2027: Otti warns supporters against disrupting opposition campaigns

Abia State Governor Alex Otti cautioned his supporters on Sunday against disrupting opposition party campaigns in the state. He emphasized that opposition parties should be allowed to utilize public facilities, such as the stadium, provided they obtain necessary approvals and make required payments. Otti stated that security agencies have been instructed to arrest anyone attempting to obstruct legitimate political activities, regardless of the individual's affiliation with the Labour Party.

The governor reiterated this directive, asserting that he has the authority to restrict anyone who obstructs political groups from campaigning. Otti urged political actors to focus on issues rather than personal attacks, noting that Abia has moved beyond campaigning on basic governance issues like salary payments, road construction, and urban sanitation.

He highlighted the state's progress in various areas, citing its ranking in the Citizen Satisfaction Index and its performance in the State Performance Index and Fiscal Performance Ranking. Otti encouraged residents to take the campaign to every community and reminded them that the state has made significant strides since 12 years ago, and the world recognizes Abia's progress.
