WhatsApp has introduced four new features for group chat management. The first is Group Status updates, allowing users to share status updates with select group members, which are automatically removed after 24 hours. Next, pinned messages will now remain visible permanently in group chats, eliminating the previous 24-hour, 7-day, and 30-day limits.
The third feature enables new group members to access older messages after joining, improving context understanding without repetitive message forwarding. Lastly, a "Mentions and Replies" chat filter highlights unread messages where the user is mentioned, directly replied to, or involves "@all" notifications, assisting users in managing multiple active WhatsApp groups.
These updates aim to enhance communication in group chats, rolling out gradually for Android and iOS users.
