Samsung Galaxy Z Fold9 Could Bring Back a Feature Missing for Two Years

Samsung is reportedly planning to reintroduce the under-display selfie camera with the Galaxy Z Fold9. This feature, which was present in the Galaxy Z Fold3 but absent in the Galaxy Z Fold7, would allow users to enjoy the phone's expansive inner screen without a visible camera cutout. According to a leak, the upcoming foldable smartphone could also undergo significant internal improvements while maintaining its current design.

Samsung is expected to release the Galaxy Z Fold9 in 2027, although this has not been officially confirmed. The device might be 0.6mm thinner when unfolded and 1.8mm thinner when folded compared to the Galaxy Z Fold8, although the accuracy of these estimates is uncertain. The Galaxy Z Fold9 is being developed to compete with Apple's foldable iPhone Duo, which features an under-display camera.
