Mumbai Indians name new head coach for IPL 2027
Mumbai Indians have appointed Kieron Pollard as their new head coach for the upcoming IPL 2027 season, following Mahela Jayawardene's decision to step down after a decade with the franchise. The seasoned T20 specialist will take over from Jayawardene, who led the team during his second stint as head coach from 2022 to 2023. Pollard, who retired as a player last season, expressed his delight at the opportunity and thanked the management for their trust.
He highlighted his deep connection with the team and the Paltan, emphasizing his understanding of MI's values and the responsibility of representing the Blue and Gold. Nita Ambani, co-owner of Mumbai Indians, praised Pollard's contribution as a player and coach over the past sixteen years, vouching for his commitment and belief.
