Mohsin Naqvi Issues Another Shocking Warning

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued yet another alarming warning to Pakistanis, cautioning them against the tactics of online scammers. These fraudsters engage in deceptive practices, impersonating family members who are sick or in distress, in an attempt to trick individuals into transferring money. Speaking alongside NCCIA Additional Director Atif Ameer, Naqvi shared details of shocking incidents where scammers took on the guise of nephews or relatives, requesting financial assistance.

Some of these fraudsters even claimed to be unwell, hoping to make their requests seem legitimate. The minister expressed concern over the increasing number of such cases reported and appealed to the cybercrime police to launch public awareness campaigns. He emphasized the importance of educating the public on these basic fraud tactics, which can be effectively thwarted if individuals take the necessary steps to verify the identity of anyone requesting money online.

Naqvi stressed the need to confirm the identity of the person making the request, especially when the caller’s voice is unfamiliar, before any monetary transactions take place.
