Pakistan’s Interloop Holdings, a leading investment and holding company headquartered in Faisalabad, announced on Thursday plans to invest $55 million in a new dairy-processing plant located in Faisalabad, Punjab. The collaboration with Türkiye’s Rella Gıda aims to boost value-added production and support dairy exports, according to the company’s chairman, Musadaq Zulqarnain.
The investment, roughly equivalent to Rs15 billion, will be made through IL Foods Limited, a newly established subsidiary of Interloop Holdings. The state-of-the-art facility will be capable of producing various cheeses, butter, and Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC80), a high-value protein product. Zulqarnain stated that part of the production will be exported, contributing to Pakistan’s value-added exports.
Upon completion, the combined annual milk processing capacity will reach 180 million litres. Interloop’s CFO, Hamza Gillani, informed Business Recorder that commercial production is expected to commence in approximately 1.5 years.
