Fernandes delivers brutal verdict on Carrick’s tactical failure at Como

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has delivered a harsh verdict on manager Michael Carrick's tactics following a humiliating 4-1 Champions League defeat at Como. The club's seven-game winless run was further extended as United fell behind to a second-minute goal and never managed to recover. Fernandes criticized the team's lacklustre performance, stating that they started on the wrong foot and struggled to create chances.

He acknowledged that Nico Paz's early goal had a damaging effect on United, leaving them unable to impose themselves. Fernandes also highlighted the team's passive approach when out of possession, praising Como for dictating play and having too much time and space. When asked if his comments amounted to criticism of Carrick's tactics, Fernandes maintained that it was up to the manager and staff to assess.

The Portugal midfielder suggested that Carrick needed to be braver and take risks in high-pressure situations. Fernandes is the latest United player to publicly challenge the club's hierarchy, following in the footsteps of Lisandro Martinez and Youri Tielemans, who have both criticized the team's performance and management in recent weeks.
