iOS 27.2 adds new features in six iPhone apps, here’s what’s coming

iOS 27.2 launches next week, bringing new features to six iPhone apps, including Messages, Apple TV, FaceTime, Home, Apple Podcasts, and Games. One of the most anticipated additions is Suggested Actions in Messages, which appears below conversations to suggest actions like creating events or reminders based on message context. Users can now fine-tune which types of suggestions they receive.

Apple TV and iPadOS users can also enjoy a new profiles feature in iOS 27.2, allowing separate viewing histories and recommendations for different family members. FaceTime's Dual Capture feature has been enhanced in iOS 27.2, now available for Group FaceTime calls on iPhones with the new model. This allows both front and rear cameras to be active simultaneously during calls.

For smart lock users, iOS 27.2 introduces 'Lock After Closing' and 'Door Left Open' features in the Home app, providing automation settings for door locking and notification of prolonged door openings. Apple Podcasts receives an upgrade with AI-powered automatic chapters and transcripts in the Home tab, splitting the Up Next queue into 'New Episodes' and 'Continue Playing.'

The Games app also gets a couple of improvements, displaying recently downloaded unplayed games and updating achievement progress and leaderboard scores for easier tracking.
