Google says multiple cloud services suffer network failures in Europe

On Tuesday morning, multiple Google Cloud services across Europe faced severe network disruptions, according to Google's service health website. The British digital bank Revolut reported issues with several of its services, attributing the problem to the Google Cloud outage. Google confirmed that the incident affected its London data centre and began at 6:08am on Tuesday.

According to Google, the services were experiencing elevated errors and intermittent network failures in the europe-west2 region. The company's service update also mentioned that the issue began in London. Internet service tracker Downdetector recorded hundreds of reports of problems affecting UK lenders Lloyds Bank, HSBC, property website Rightmove, and postal service Royal Mail.

Google's engineering team is continuing to investigate the issue but provided no specific reason for the disruption. A Revolut spokesperson assured customers that the bank's money and data are safe and expressed apologies for any inconvenience caused. Google stated that all efforts to resolve the issue were underway.
