AIOU Announces New Assignment Submission Rules

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced revised guidelines for assignment submission by students enrolled in its Associate Degree in Arts and Commerce and BA Open Courses programs, starting with the Autumn 2026 semester. As per an official announcement by the university, all new and existing students in these programs are now mandated to submit their assignments electronically through the AIOU Aaghi Learning Management System (LMS).

The university has specified that assignments must be uploaded in PDF format via the official portal located at https://aaghi.aiou.edu.pk. Students have the option to either draft their assignments by hand or type them, which can then be transformed into PDF files for submission. Starting from the Autumn 2026 semester, AIOU will no longer accept assignments submitted via registered post.

This directive applies exclusively to students pursuing the Associate Degree (Old BA/B.Com) and BA Open Courses programs. Additionally, the university has barred students from submitting assignments directly to their instructors in person. The Aaghi LMS portal has been instructed as the sole submission channel for all affected students from the Autumn 2026 semester onward.
