Nigerian boxer Aishat Gbadamosi has reacted to her controversial loss at the African Boxing Elite Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. Gbadamosi, who won the women's featherweight category, lost a disputed 3-1 decision to Algeria's Douaa Rouaz. Despite the negative decision, Gbadamosi remains unfazed and believes she was born to box.
She was only competing in her second international event, following a previous appearance in Ghana. Gbadamosi expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to represent Nigeria on the continental stage, stating that she would use the exposure to improve herself and leave decisions to the officials. The controversy has raised concerns among some observers about the standard of judging at the championship, but the Nigeria Boxing Federation has not commented on the matter.
