“We’re Doing Everything To Make The US Position Strong And Help Bring Closer The Peace That Everyone Except Russia Is Waiting For” — Zelenskyy Following Call With Witkoff And Kushner

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed in a social media post on Sunday, October 18 that he had a call with representatives of American figures Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The news was reported by UATV English. Zelenskyy detailed that they deliberated the outcomes of the meeting between Ukrainian and American teams in Florida. He further explained that their teams maintain constant communication, and the team is also preparing the subsequent steps in diplomacy.

Zelenskyy pointed out that Ukraine consistently informs its allies about the authentic situation with Russian shelling and air defense matters. He emphasized that the outcome hinges significantly on America's stance. He reasserted Ukraine's commitment to working constructively, honestly, and towards a genuine outcome.

Previously, it was disclosed that during the talks in Miami, Witkoff and Kushner proposed several possible mechanisms for unblocking Russian assets, which included transferring them to a new financial mechanism under US supervision. It was also disclosed that Witkoff and Kushner threatened, during talks with the Ukrainian team in Florida, to cease intelligence sharing with Ukraine regarding strikes on Russian oil refineries.

Zelenskyy affirmed on October 14 in an interview with NPR that Ukrainian forces were warned and threatened about intelligence sharing, though these threats were not executed at the time. On October 18, Zelenskyy announced that the US had recommenced supplying Ukraine with crucial intelligence information necessary for defense against Russian missile attacks.
