Serie A: Udinese coach warns Maduka Okoye after costly error

Udinese manager Kosta Runjaić has warned goalkeeper Maduka Okoye that further significant errors could lead to serious consequences. The warning follows an error by the Nigerian international that directly contributed to Udinese's loss against Torino at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, according to Daily Post Nigeria.

Runjaić stated through the club's official communications channel that he spoke to Okoye with absolute clarity regarding the mistake. The manager noted that while the goalkeeper understands his decision resulted in a conceded goal, he believes Okoye has the capability to be ranked among the five most accomplished goalkeepers in Serie A if he demonstrates consistent maximum effort.

Premium Times reports that the scrutiny of Okoye follows the mistake made during the match against Torino as the team prepares for a Sunday Serie A meeting with Lecce. Okoye joined Udinese from Watford during the summer of 2023, Daily Post Nigeria reports.
