He's making us lose matches' - Okoye receives final warning from Udinese manager

Udinese manager Kosta Runjaić has issued a stern warning to Nigerian goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, cautioning that any further egregious errors during the upcoming match against Lecce could lead to dire consequences. Okoye, who transferred from Watford to Udinese in 2023, was responsible for a critical mistake that resulted in Udinese's defeat against Torino earlier in the season.

Runjaić, in a recent communication with his club's media, emphasized the importance of clear communication between coaches and players, stating that he had delivered a direct and blunt warning to Okoye following the Torino loss. The Nigerian international acknowledged his critical error contributed significantly to the team's defeat at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Despite possessing the potential to be among Serie A's top five goalkeepers with consistent effort, Runjaić stressed that Okoye must demonstrate unwavering commitment to reach that level. The manager highlighted that substantial resources have been invested in Okoye's development, and every error must be prevented to maintain the team's competitive edge.

In the previous two matches, Udinese controlled play effectively, and Okoye was not required to make significant contributions. However, the manager cautioned that finding the right balance between composure and focus is crucial. He reiterated that every error carries severe consequences and must be avoided at all costs.

Okoye, who has been a valuable asset for Udinese, will be driven to rectify his mistakes and restore his optimal performance level to contribute positively to the team's success.
