Negeri Sembilan's Menteri Besar, Ismail Lasim, has brushed off the open challenge issued by Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir following Friday prayers. "I'm just fine. There's no need for any comment," he stated, according to Sinar Harian. During Friday, various videos on social media showed Tuanku Muhriz addressing a group of attendees, informing them that Ismail had sent a letter to the Sultan's Privy Council, clarifying that he was no longer the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar.

Tuanku Muhriz then dismissed Ismail, who responded by praying as a sign of respect. Currently, Negeri Sembilan faces a constitutional crisis that began in April after four individuals claimed to have announced Tuanku Muhriz's removal from the throne and declared Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar as the new state government. Ismail later acknowledged his ex-wife's claim, which allegedly supported the removal of Tuanku Muhriz, before canceling the entire exco appointment.
