Iwobi among most underrated players – Sherwood

Premier League champion Tim Sherwood has hailed Alex Iwobi as one of the Premier League's most underrated players following the Fulham midfielder's crucial goal against Hull City. Speaking to Sky Sports after Saturday's match at Craven Cottage, Sherwood praised Iwobi's versatility and impact on the game. "Iwobi must be one of the most underrated players in the Premier League," he remarked.

"The amount of games he plays, the different positions he operates in. He was excellent today, not just scoring the goal." Iwobi opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, capitalizing on a defensive error from Hull City. His shot, deflected by a teammate, went in off the post and into the net. The 30-year-old, who had been goalless and without an assist in six league games prior, now has 36 Premier League goals in 327 appearances.

His goal took him level with Nigerian teammate Peter Odemwingie in terms of goals scored. Fulham secured their first win of the season and lifted themselves off the relegation zone with the victory, while Iwobi's goal also marked his first of the campaign. The win was Fulham's first of the season and the first under new manager Alvaro Arbeloa.

Fellow Super Eagles Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi also played the full match for Fulham, while Hull's players were absent from the match report.
