Former Spanish F1 commentator Antonio Lobato revealed that the BBC is in the process of making a documentary about Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso's tumultuous 2007 season at McLaren. The commentator, who was the voice of F1 coverage in Spain during Alonso's championship-winning seasons with Renault in 2005 and 2006 and his year with McLaren in 2007, turned down an invitation to be part of the documentary.

The 2007 season remains one of the most dramatic in Formula One history, with Alonso and Hamilton only one point apart at the end of the season, trailing championship winner Kimi Raikkonen by just one point.
Alonso left McLaren at the end of the season to return to Renault, while Hamilton and Alonso have both continued their successful careers as of the 2026 season.
