Cockroach effigy at Delhi Ramlila event triggers queries; organisers say promoting cleanliness

At a Delhi Ramlila event, a 30-foot cockroach effigy will be burned alongside effigies of Ravan, Meghnad and Kumbhkaran, organizers say the effigy symbolises filth and dirt, and is unrelated to the Cockroach Janta Party. Social media users question the timing and propriety of the effigy, while organizers claim the initiative promotes cleanliness under 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Swachh Delhi' campaigns.

The Shree Keshav Ram Leela Committee, which organises the event, stated the decision was not politically motivated and intended to convey the message of good triumphing over evil.
