Sahiwal Gets New Sports Arena, Model Bazaar and Major Link Road

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated four development projects in Sahiwal, including the Maryam Nawaz Sports Arena, beautification of Model Saddar Bazaar, a Model Agriculture Mall, and a 27-kilometre dual carriageway linking Sahiwal with Arifwala. The Sports Arena, which offers paddle courts, cricket, and football arenas, as well as a café and other amenities, was inspected by the chief minister, who also interacted with players and signed autographs for children.

The Model Saddar Bazaar beautification project included underground wiring for electricity and other utilities, an entrance gate, paved walkways, benches, planters, and waste bins. The Model Agriculture Mall, set to be replicated in 10 other provinces, provides certified seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and modern agricultural machinery for rent, alongside training programmes and financial services. The dual carriageway is expected to benefit millions of residents across three districts.
