Everton vs. Chelsea, Premier League: Preview, team news, how to watch
Blues on Blues on blues
Cobham, England - October 16, 2026 - This weekend, Chelsea FC will face off against Everton at Goodison Park in the Premier League. Manager Xabi Alonso hopes to capitalize on last weekend's impressive 5-1 victory over AFC Bournemouth, but he acknowledges that maintaining such a level of performance consistently may prove challenging. Chelsea currently stands atop the league, while Everton finds itself in fifth place.
No European distractions await either side this weekend, and both teams are in good health. Chelsea's Reece James will miss the match due to a knee operation, which is expected to sideline him until Christmas. Elsewhere, Chelsea's new midfield duo, Moisés Caicedo and Jordan Henderson, showed great promise in last weekend's win.
Everton, meanwhile, leads the league without conceding a single goal. The Toffees have four draws and one win, and they have shown glimpses of the quality needed to compete with the top teams. David Moyes, Everton's manager, admits that they have limited resources and aren't expecting a league title, but they aim to challenge the top teams.
