SMU volleyball loses second game in a row at home, falls to Miami
SMU's loss to Miami is the team's first loss against an unranked team this season.
Southern Methodist University's volleyball team suffered a second consecutive home loss to Miami on Friday, falling to the unranked Hurricanes. The Mustangs won the first two sets before Miami made a remarkable comeback in the final three sets. SMU won the first set 25-22, but Miami dominated the second, third and fifth sets, taking them 25-19, 25-22 and 15-9 respectively.
The fourth set was decided 33-31, with sophomore outside hitter Suli Davis leading SMU's attack with 21 kills, while Anyanwu contributed seven blocks to SMU's defense. Despite moving back up to No. 5 in the country earlier this week, SMU's loss put them two games behind first place, and one behind 6-1 rival teams Pitt and Miami.
