Fubara rewards Rivers Real Madrid academy team with N50m

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has generously rewarded the players and coaches of the Real Madrid Football Academy, Port Harcourt, with a sum of N50 million for their commendable performance during a recent football tour of the United Kingdom. Fubara commended the team for their discipline and exemplary conduct, despite the challenges they faced during the trip, which the team overcame without any misconduct.

The governor emphasized that the academy, established by his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, is dedicated to nurturing young talents to achieve lucrative careers in football, stating that the football economy is more substantial than many conventional corporate organizations. Fubara's administration aims not only to develop the students' football skills but also to mold them into responsible citizens and ambassadors for Rivers State.

He assured the students that the state government will address their concerns about inadequate facilities, accommodation, and other challenges to provide a conducive environment for learning and training. Fubara praised the academy and its students, recognizing their achievements and their representation of the state internationally.
