Fubara Rewards Real Madrid Academy With N50m After UK Tour Triumph

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has honored the Real Madrid Football Academy in Port Harcourt for their triumphant UK tour, rewarding them with N50 million. Fubara commended the players' skills and character, emphasizing the importance of academic excellence alongside athletic ambition. He encouraged the students to maintain discipline, responsibility, and commitment to their education.

Fubara assured the academy that the state government would resolve issues concerning insufficient facilities, accommodation, and other operational challenges to create a more conducive environment for learning and training. He also expressed gratitude to local and foreign consultants who supported the tour, describing it as a transformative experience for the students, many of whom had never traveled beyond Port Harcourt.

Fubara believes that this exposure will enable the students to appreciate opportunities in international football and serve as ambassadors for Rivers State.

Dr Prudence Isaac-Harry, the academy's principal, expressed her appreciation to the governor for sponsoring 61 student-athletes and 12 officials on the UK tour. She noted that the students impressed their counterparts in Southampton and London with their skills and performances, earning a silver trophy. Isaac-Harry stated that the landmark trip had successfully opened doors for further international tournaments, as several top-tier clubs are already extending invitations to the academy.

She pledged that the academy's management and students would continue to live up to the state government's investment by bringing honor and glory to Rivers State.
