Brazil’s Santa Catarina signs Moroccan region MoU

São Paulo – The Guelmim-Oued Noun regional council in Morocco and the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina have recently signed a memorandum of understanding. This agreement, signed by Santa Catarina Governor Jorginho Mello during a visit by Arab ambassadors, aims to foster cooperation in various sectors such as trade, investment, health, and education.

The MoU, signed remotely by the Moroccan side, builds on previous initiatives to strengthen ties between the two entities, including the opening of Morocco's Honorary Consulate in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina's capital. Moroccan Ambassador Nabil Adghoghi, who received the Anita Garibaldi Medal in recognition of his contributions to Santa Catarina's development, expressed pride in the recognition and highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral relations.

The Arab diplomatic delegation, which included ambassadors from Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait, met with state leaders, businesspeople, and executives during their visit from October 12 to 15.
