21 years after Indian Idol, Amit Sana addresses ‘rivalry’ with Abhijeet Sawant: ‘Old thing’

Two decades after the conclusion of the first season of Indian Idol, the show's contestants Amit Sana and Abhijeet Sawant are set to collaborate once again in Indian Idol Legends Return. This reunion comes after Abhijeet emerged victorious in the inaugural competition, while Amit finished as the show's first runner-up. Despite the rivalry that once divided their fan bases, Amit recently shared that the issue is now 'long past' and that he does not wish to revisit it.

Speaking to Mid-Day, he emphasized that the animosity had faded over time and that both contestants had moved on to pursue separate paths. Amit also clarified that there is no 'awkwardness' between him and Abhijeet, attributing this to the passage of time. He further expressed his willingness to collaborate with Abhijeet in music, stating that the memories of the competition are still present but no longer hold much significance.

Indian Idol Legends Return is scheduled to premiere on October 17, with Himesh Reshammiya returning as a judge.
